Cruise Center Altona

The Cruise Center Altona started operations in 2011. The terminal accommodates cruise ships up to a length of 300m and a draught of up to 10.5m. The terminal building with its huge glass front offers a spectacular view of Hamburg’s port. It is also open to visitors who can enjoy the panoramic view from the roof top terrace.

Opening times of the terminal depend on the arrival and departure times of the cruise ships. The terminal building is open to passengers, meeters and greeters as well as visitors during these times only. Please check your travel documents for more information about ship arrival and departure times or go to the Ship Spotting section.

By Road

From the A7

Leave the A7 at exit 29 towards HH-Othmarschen, follow the sign towards Elbbrücken/ Zentrum/Altona, continue on Walderseestraße and after that on Behringstraße. Turn right into Hohenzollerning, then turn left into Elbchaussee, continue on Klopstockstraße. Turn right into Kaistraße, then turn left into Große Elbstraße. Turn right into Van-der-Smissen-Straße and follow the signage for Cruise Center Altona.

From the A1/ A255/ A252/ B4/ B75

After the Elbbrücken (Billhorner Brückenstraße) take the exit towards Freihafen/HafenCity. Continue on Zweibrückenstraße, Versmannstraße and Überseeallee straight into Osakaallee. Keep on the left lane: At Sandtorkai turn left towards Baumwall (or follow detour signage if applicable). Pass by Landungsbrücken, St. Pauli Hafenstraße and St. Pauli Fischmarkt. Follow the signage for Cruise Center Altona or continue on Breite Straße, Palmaille-Kaistraße and Große Elbstraße to Edgar-Engelhard-Kai.

From the A24

Follow the A24 until Hammer Kreisel – Sievekingsallee – Bürgerweide. Turn left into Heidenkampsweg, turn left into Bergfelderstraße. Head towards Deichtorhallen, continue on Willy Brandt-Straße and Reeperbahn, then turn left into Pepermölenbek. Follow the signage for Cruise Center Altona or continue on Breite Straße, Palmaille-Kaistraße and Große Elbstraße to Edgar-Engelhard-Kai.

By Public Transport

From Hamburg central railway station

Take the S1/S3 train or the U3 tube to “Landungsbrücken” station. From there take the HVV ferry service (62) towards Finkenwerder and alight at “Dockland”. The cruise centre in Altona is located right next to the ferry pier.

From Altona railway station

Take bus service 111 and alight at “Große Elbstraße”.

From Hamburg airport

Take the S1train to “Landungsbrücken” station. From there take the HVV ferry service (62) towards Finkenwerder and alight at “Dockland”. The cruise centre in Altona is located right next to the ferry pier.
