Hamburg attends "IAPH World Ports Conference" in Guangzhou/China and "Posidonia Sea Tourism Forum" in Athens/Greece

Sacha Rougier, Managing Director of Cruise Gate Hamburg, is active on a regular basis at international trade shows and conferences to market Hamburg's cruise expertise on an international level. In her role as Chair Person of the cruise committee of the “International Association of Ports and Harbors” (IAPH) and together with other stakeholders in the cruise industry, she will address current challenges on a global scale and to promote sustainability processes at European level.

IAPH World Ports Conference in Guangzhou/China

Initiated by the International Association of Ports and Harbors theWorld Ports Conference, which takes place every two years, plays an important role in the development of the shipping industry around the world. So far, the World Ports Conference has held 30 editions, including the World Ports Conference in Houston, Los Angeles, Hamburg and others. The IAPH GUANGZHOU 2019 World Ports Conference will be held in Guangzhou Baiyun Convention Center in May 6-10, 2019. More than 1000 representatives of port administration and enterprises from all over the world are expected to participate in this event, in order to exchange views on issues such as green ports, smart ports and sustainable development of the ports. This year, Hamburg will organize a session within the conference titled „China and the world's emerging cruise markets“, where Sacha Rougier, as Chair Person of the IAPH Cruise Committee, will be on the panel. Posidonia SEA TOURISM FORUM in Athens/Greece​

A few weeks later, Hamburg will be present again at international level at the Posidonia Sea Tourism Forum in Athens, May 28 to 29, 2019. The 5th Posidonia Sea Tourism Forum aims to showcase new development potential in the East Med. As in previous years, the Forum will provide a platform for national and regional government representatives to outline planned policies and discuss the future needs for the region’s Sea Tourism development with the industry.

Sacha Rougier will give a presentation within the session „CLIA EUROPE - Partnership for Sustainable Tourism: Ships, Ports and Destinations“. In highlighting the example of Hamburg, she will illustrate how the City deals with the increased worldwide awareness on environmental issues – and how „sustainable growth of the cruise tourism“ can be achieved (Tuesday 28 May 2019, 14:00 - 15:15; more information on the program:
