The passion that the Hamburg Cruise Days inspires remains as ardent as ever. The fifth incarnation of this incredibly popular event again attracted hundreds of thousands of people to the city, to the River Elbe and to the port. The Hamburg Cruise Days are the epitome of Hanseatic flair, and they showcase the port as an inspiring location for a superlative event, an event that allows people to experience the fascination of cruises and maritime pleasure. The event continues to be an unprecedented success: 570,000 visitors experienced the event over the course of three days. For 71.4% of out-of-town visitors the Hamburg Cruise Days were the sole reason for coming to Hamburg. The national coverage of the event in print, TV, radio and online media in 2015 generated just under three billion contacts. Internationally, press work for the event generated around 13.6 million contacts.

Interest in booking a cruise

Attending the Hamburg Cruise Days increased the willingness of many visitors to book a cruise;
this applied both to those with previous cruise experience and those without.
