Experience the Christmas season in Hamburg and let yourself be enchanted by the magical atmosphere. Between the Elbe, the Alster and the city’s idyllic canals, Hamburg’s festive Christmas markets and shopping arcades invite you to browse and explore. You can look forward to a brilliant glow of lights, fragrant delicacies, artisan products and Christmas tunes. One of the highlights is the historic Christmas market on the illuminated Rathausplatz square. While discovering traditional handicrafts and seasonal sweets, you can see Santa Claus hovering over the market in his sleigh in the evening hours. On each Saturday of the Advent season from 14:00 to 17:00, you can also watch a Christmas parade making its way through the festively decorated city centre, with many elves, angels, dancers and floats.
